Bay Trail Gap Closure Implementation Plan
San Francisco Bay Area, California
Zander Westbrook Design worked with Alta Planning + Design to support a study of existing gaps in the San Francisco Bay Trail. The team conducted a field survey of existing off-street Bay Trail segments by bicycle and coordinated outreach with seven community-based organizations throughout the Bay Area. The goal of the outreach was to collect public feedback on existing conditions and use, and to identify unbuilt Bay Trail gaps the community would like to see closed. Zander Westbrook Design also led the final report layout and graphics.
The Bay Trail Gap Closure Implementation Plan (BTGCIP) is a comprehensive plan aimed at completing the vision of a 500-mile Bay Trail network around the Bay. The BTGCIP seeks to keep the Bay Trail welcoming to diverse users while promoting active transportation, healthy communities, environmental stewardship, education, and equitable public access.
