Bay Skyway Corridor Study
San Francisco Bay Area, California
Zander Westbrook Design worked with the Bay Area Toll Authority to assess existing conditions and provide recommendations for wayfinding, amenities, and path upgrades along the Bay Skyway Corridor of the San Francisco Bay Trail. The study included a detailed review of the existing corridor based on both desktop materials and fieldwork. Recommendations were tailored to be applicable at all stages of this rapidly changing corridor.
The Bay Skyway Corridor is part of the San Francisco Bay Trail, which is designed to create a continuous 500-mile path circumnavigating the entire San Francisco Bay. This popular corridor is expected to see an increasing number of users due to ongoing development on Treasure and Yerba Buena Islands, as well as the planned bikeway connection to West Oakland and the future bikeway on the western span of the Bay Bridge.
