North Coast Transportation Demand Management Plan

Santa Cruz County, California

Zander Westbrook Design supported the development of the North Coast Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Plan by providing expertise in active transportation and regional trail planning. Working with Fehr & Peers, our team evaluated existing off-street walking and bicycling facilities throughout Santa Cruz County’s North Coast region and identified opportunities to improve connectivity, access, and multimodal travel.

Building on this inventory, we developed conceptual designs for priority active transportation projects, including trail and pathway improvements, with illustrative plans, renderings, cross sections, planning-level cost estimates, and implementation recommendations. By combining technical analysis with regional trail planning expertise, the project identified investments that expand transportation choices, reduce reliance on single-occupancy vehicles, and improve access to destinations throughout the North Coast.

The Santa Cruz County North Coast Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Plan is a regional strategy designed to reduce reliance on single-occupancy vehicle travel while improving access to the North Coast corridor via walking, biking, public transit, and shared transportation.
