Great Redwood Trail Master Plan

Norther California

Zander Westbrook Design worked with Alta Planning + Design on community outreach and trailhead designs for the Great Redwood Trail Master Plan. The planned trail will follow the alignment of an old railroad corridor from Marin to Humboldt County, as well as the Eel River corridor through highly ecologically sensitive and geologically challenging terrain. The designs focused on trailheads in some of the historic rail towns.

The Great Redwood Trail Master Plan is a roadmap for planning, constructing and managing the Great Redwood Trail. The Plan will serve as a guiding document to address issues like user experience, trail design, operations and maintenance, habitat restoration, as well as project priorities and funding. The plan covers Mendocino, Trinity and Humbolt counties
